Tell me more about your OCP Name Tapes?

OCP Name Tapes are worn for identification only by the military. They are normally worn on the military shirts/jackets. The OCP which means Operational Camouflage Pattern originally codenamed Scorpion W2 is a military uniform pattern adopted by the United States Army in 2010 as the official combat uniform pattern for most U.S. soldiers Visit this page to learn more about OCP.

Our OCP Name tapes are done using the same piece of OCP fabric in order to perfectly blend in when worn. It offers quick ways to identify a team mate or an official’s name on his apparel or belongings. Our OCP Name tapes can be embroidered or printed depending on what your choices are.

How do you make the OCP Name Tapes?

We make most of our OCP Name Tapes using the name embroidery method which involves using a computerized embroidery machine, an embroidery thread, and a piece of cloth. After you’ve requested for your OCP Name Tapes, we design and upload it to this machine which puts out the design on a piece of cloth. Note that this method applies for any name embroidery.

How do you attach/apply Name Embroidery on clothing?

There are various options for this however;

Velcro backing – It involves use of two strips of thin plastic sheets covered with tiny loops and the other with tiny flexible hooks that adhere when pressed together and separated when pulled apart. This technique can also be found on sneakers for kids. It’s a common technique and its advantage is that it adds flexibility – the ability to use it on different cloths.

Iron on backing also known as Heat seal backing involves a thin layer of special glue that fastens on the fabric when heated using dry iron thereafter becoming hardened when it’s cools off. (Please visit this page to read more on Iron on Backing)

The Sew on Backing – this is done using a sewing machine. It’s the strongest and permanent way to apply embroidered patches.

And finally, the Peel and Stick backing – Also known as Adhesive backing or sticky backing works like a sticker. It is a temporary backing method that can easily be removed and reused for 4 – 6 times.

Quality Assurance Department

Our staffs are experienced personnel that control the quality of our patches. They are experienced embroiderers with extensive experience in the custom embroidery industry.

Our QCs checks design details, outlines, fill areas, and the back side of the name embroidery as well as other patches to ensure bobbin thread settings.

The following are NINE (9) steps followed by our QCs:

1.   They confirm the size of the finished patches by taking measurements with a ruler.

2.   They confirm all the text/letters in a logo matching it with its original logo artwork.

3.   They check for puckering issues, using thread trimming and fabric stabilizer.

4.   They confirm that the backing (Velcro/Iron on) option is correctly applied with reference to the instructions.

5.   They confirm that the border type (Hot-Cut/Merrow), and color is correct with the instructions.

6.   They confirm the number of finished patches carefully with the additional 3-5%.

7.   They perform checks for 100% quality of the patches making sure none has any defect.

8.   They confirm the packaging is nice and clean with small packets using the bobbin thread. Note that our packaging does not involve rubber bands since it can easily melt thereby destroying some of the packaged patches.

9.   All steps above are repeated twice for every other marking the steps with a printed checklist.

Free Pantone* Color Matching

Pantone matching is important since colors on a screen always differ from those on the PMS* color book, therefore matching PMS book colors with on-screen colors is impossible. The only alternative is to make the 100% match using a physical PMS color book. Note that Using a PDF PMS color book is not perfect for this as you’ll be accepting slight color differences.

In order to help our customers get the exact thread or fabric colors they need for their project, we do color matching for them free of charge. In matching the exact PMS color for the background fabric, we use dye sublimation method and we always try to match these colors as close as possible keeping in mind that Pantone has over 3,000 colors. With Madeira, the biggest embroidery thread brand producing just around 500 thread colors, we use one thread color for six Pantone colors. Visit this page for more info on Madeira.

*Pantone Matching System also called PMS is the only global brand

Stitch-count Based Prices

Unlike our competitors who base their prices on higher stitch count which is very unfair for you, we employ the use of “pay as you go” pricing calculator which involves stitch-count based pricing method. Note that the number of stitches varies logo to logo; for example, a 3” round logo with 100% covered with stitches may have 15,000 to 25,000 stitches.

Unlike other companies, we use the stitch-count based pricing method. It makes lots of sense when you use “pay as you go” pricing calculator. Size based prices are, sometimes, too much for a simple logo.
