How should I apply the biker vest patches when I get them?
We use several backing methods in attaching the biker vest patches to vests. Some of these methods include; Velcro, Iron on, and Sew On. The choice of backing option for each jacket is dependent on the material of the vest as well as the client. For example, we cannot use the iron on backing on a leather vest as the heat will damage it but it should work well for cloth/fabric vests. The iron on backing involves a thin layer of special glue that fastens on the fabric when heated using dry iron and hardens when it cools off. You can visit this page to read more on Iron on Backing. The Velcro option uses two strips of thin plastic sheets with one covered with tiny loops and the other with tiny flexible hooks that adhere when pressed together and gets separated when pulled apart while the Sew on involves using a sewing machine to attach the patch.

The Biker’s Vest
The biker vest is a self expression, showing the experiences and adventures of a biker. It is also serves as a common expression from a group of people bonded by motorcycles. Without doubt the biker’s vest is one of the most enduring icons in motorcycle history starting as far back as the Second World War. As Motorcycle became more popular, powerful and faster, the need for better protection was born hence the use of war bomber jackets by war veterans who were mostly riders using the motorcycles to break the monotony of the quiet life back home after facing the war. These jackets were perfect for protection however; they weren’t too comfortable for carrying arms and were also too warm for most riding conditions. By the 50’s there was a propagation of motorcycles clubs in America and some segments of the motorcycle community were alienated and viewed as outlaws or rebels. This led to the need for functionality that made bikers cut of their jacket sleeves resulting to what we now know as “Cuts”. This later got amplified in the 60’s and 70’s evolving with styles departing from the denim vests to the leather vests we have today serving as a symbol of respect in Motorcycle community.
The biker vest is designed to provide you with some level of protection even though the protection given might not be comprehensive. Biker vests come in handy for most bikers when the temperatures go up. It is very comfortable to ride your bike wearing those thick leather jackets during winter, however as the summer emerges, you’ll definitely feel very uncomfortable riding with them which is where the vests come in. a lot of people have a picture of those bright orange construction vests whenever vest it mentioned, but in reality, there are lots of different vest styles and materials designed to suit bikers who just can’t ride with the long sleeve jackets during summer. These vests offer some sort of extra protection around your torso when you ride with them. You can apply your biker vest patches on some these vests when you earn them especially if you belong to a motorcycle club. However, as a lone biker or you belong to a rider’s club, there are biker vest patches you can also apply on your vests as long as you follow the motorcycle patch etiquette.
Our Major Buyers and End-Users
The end-users of our biker vest patches are diverse. They are individuals or group of people who come from a diverse community, profession or locality. While these patches are used to decorate their jackets, it often conveys a message to their fellow bikers about who they are, their beliefs and where they belong. For example, any of these patches can tell you about the club a biker belongs to as well as the activities they might have participated in.
Since Motorcycle clubs are diverse and could be for different groups of people, our buyers are bikers, war veterans, police officers, families, firefighters and many more who either belong to a motorcycle club or rider’s club but would want to customize their biker back patches in guidelines to their club patches. More so, these clubs also come to us to create special biker back patches that will be made available for all their members.
History of biker vest patches
The history of biker vest patches can be traced to that of the motorcycle patches since it is a type of motorcycle patch.
Motorcycle patches emerged when the American Motorcyclist Association which came up in the 1920s started conducting events. In those AMA events, rider groups were expected to dress their best competing for the best dressed club as such they learnt to embroider their club names on the backs of their jackets.
However, the biker back vest patches came to live after the emergence of the “cuts” which referred to a version of jackets with the sleeves ripped off. This was done by the riders in the 50’s who needed more functionality from their jackets which became too warm to ride with and also restricted mobility of arms as most of them were war veterans.
Today the “cuts” has evolved to finely designed leather biker vests offering protection to the biker with biker vest patches applied on them.
